Gasoline Generator Maintenance Methods

After a new generator or a previously stored generator has undergone a break-in period (the first 50 hours), the following maintenance should be performed:
Clean or replace the air filter.
Change the engine oil.
Replace or clean the oil filter element.
Retighten all bolts and nuts.

New generators should avoid sudden increases in load or high-speed operation. Use the manufacturer's recommended lubricating oil whenever possible. Do not mix different brands of lubricating oil, as mixing different brands will reduce lubrication performance and lead to abnormal wear of moving parts.

When filling the fuel tank, the filler neck should have a filter; using a filter cloth is even better. Fuel should be left to stand in the tank for at least 24 hours to allow water and impurities to settle before use. Regularly open the drain plug of the day fuel tank to drain water and sediment from the bottom.

Regular inspections and planned maintenance are key to extending engine lifespan. Inspection cycles and items should be adjusted according to usage, conditions, and the properties of fuel and lubricating oil. Inspections should be conducted in advance when necessary, and should ideally be performed by professional technicians.

High-quality imported generator sets are often expensive. Proper use, emphasis on daily maintenance, prevention of premature wear, and extending their lifespan will ensure they are always in good standby condition for quick start-up and deployment, truly maximizing their potential.
